<div id = 'locDescript'><div class ='more'>Kilmore is one of Victoria's oldest inland settlements and it oozes history. An impressive collection of nineteenth century bluestone buildings line the streets and more than 40 buildings in Kilmore are listed on the Register of National Estate.
Have lunch in a converted old bluestone building, visit the old gaol, built in 1859, then wander through the many specialty shops selling antiques, arts and crafts.
The tramways museum at Bylands is part of the Kilmore heritage experience. Ride on one of the heritage trams, some of which date back to 1906, and view the collection of cable cars and electric trams which comprise the 'preserved tramway fleet' that were all once in service in and around Melbourne and Adelaide.
Hike up Mt Disappointment and see wombats and wallabies and admire the varied bird life. Extreme sports lovers can try hang gliding in Tallarook State Park and visit popular rock climbing sites. Take a scenic drive through the picturesque Valley of a Thousand Hills.
Get along to one of the fun-filled racing days throughout the year at Kilmore Racing Club, which also plays host to the Kilmore Country Music Festival in March.
Kilmore is about an hour from Melbourne along the Hume Highway. </div></div>
