As per the Coastal Studies Unit at University of Sydney, Australia has a total of 10,685 beaches. This number was based on the definition that for a stretch of sand to be categorized as a “beach”, said stretch of sand must be more than 20 metres long and remain dry during high tides.
Some wish to “commune with nature”. Personally, I would prefer to be immune from nature. I’m not a huge fan of real, wee-in-the-woods, wear-the-same-shirt-for-a-week, sleep-on-the-ground camping.
